A rotary rake is a trailed hay distribution tool to attach to a tractor. These tools dislodge clumps of wet grass and cast it into loose piles to dry.

Rotary rakes feature numerous rotating arms, each with multiple tines. As the arms rotate, the tines scoop and shift clumps of grass or hay to form windrows. The raking process is crucial to a field harvest. Loosely packed windrows allow air to move through wet grass freely so that it dries quickly and evenly, preventing bacterial growth.
